It was highlighted that to improve sports performance
and manage physical impairments, technology is
essential. Advanced technology is used by specialised
departments, such as Physical Medicine, to quantify
disabilities and analyse gait. This facilitates the
customization of sports and recovery plans for para-
athletes. Organizations such as the Center of Excellence
for Sports and Paralympic Athletes offer vital assistance,
in tackling the distinct obstacles encountered by para-
athletes.
For para-athletes, mental strenth is essential. Dr
Anuradha Solanky stressed that a person’s strong sense
of self-belief and willpower are often the reasons for
their achievement. Their mental and physical obstacles
are surmounted thanks to their resilience.
Athletes must have specific, quantifiable goals. Sports
scientists, coaches, and psychologists collaborate to
create a thorough strategy for an athlete who has to
improve their performance by a given date. To reach the
objectives, this approach concentrates on specific areas
including strength, conditioning, and technical skills.
It is essential to be aware of the services and assistance
offered to para-athletes. The improvements in sports
technology and support systems are not widely known.
Improving awareness and comprehension can aid in
strengthening the para-athlete support system.
Traditional and social media play a big part in
highlighting athlete accomplishments and supporting
parasports. Emphasizing motivational tales and
performances fosters public support and interest.
Expanding educational programs to include specialized
training for coaches and sports scientists who work
with para-athletes is necessary for the future of para-
sports. This will support the creation of customized
programs that address their particular requirements.
The need to encourage and support para-athletes at all
levels is becoming increasingly apparent. To improve
results and motivate the next generations, initiatives
and focused programs are crucial.
The conversation brought to light the difficulties and
continuous work of developing sports technology
and para-athlete support networks. The significance
of inclusivity, psychological support, and good goal-
setting was underscored in terms of improving their
overall experience and performance.
